Whitepapers

Sometimes a sound bite just isn’t enough.

When your product is complex and specialized, you need more than a clever tag line to sell it.  A white paper is a short (3-15 pages) introduction to the process or technology behind your product.  It educates the consumer, so that by the time they speak with your sales force they already know a bit about what you do and why they need your product.

What about customers who don’t - yet! - know they need your product?  A white paper will establish your company as an industry leader and innovator.  It will educate the customer about your industry and your product, and give them the information they need to make a purchasing decision.

The best part is this - offering a well-written white paper will save you money!  How much time does your sales force spend introducing the basics to non-qualified leads?  Let a white paper do that for you, and save your sales force for the more important work of turning qualified leads into paying customers.

Why not just distribute one of the free white papers you can download online?  Every one of those white papers was written by one of your competitors, and will lead consumers toward their brand - and away from yours!  You wouldn’t send leads to your competitor’s sales team and expect them to deliver customers to you.  A good white paper subtly guides consumers toward your brand, by establishing your product as the standard by which all others are measured.

You could have your marketing manager or engineer to write a white paper - after all, they know your product better than anyone.  But do they have the time to devote to crafting a pursuasive, well-written white paper?  Do they have the writing talent to transform complex technical information into a pursuasive document people actually read?

That’s where I come in.  With over 10 years of experience in technology and writing, I know how to digest unfamiliar technical data quickly, then transform it into compelling and easy to understand information that bridges the gap between consumer and qualified lead.
